Enhancing Our Inspection Process: Flyreel DIY Vs. Millennium Physical Inspections

As part of our ongoing efforts to improve risk assessment and underwriting accuracy, we now require inspections on both new business and renewal policies. These inspections help ensure we have the most up-to-date information about a property’s condition, allowing for more precise underwriting decisions and appropriate coverage recommendations.

To complete these inspections, we use two different methods: Flyreel DIY inspections and Millennium physical inspections. Each option offers distinct advantages, and the decision to use one over the other depends on the property, its specific needs, and the ability of the policyholder to complete the inspection.

FLYREEL: THE PRIMARY INSPECTION METHOD

Flyreel serves as our main inspection provider due to its convenience, efficiency, and security. This innovative approach allows insureds to complete their inspection on their own schedule, eliminating the need to coordinate with an inspector or allow a stranger into their home.

Using AI-powered technology, Flyreel guides policyholders through the process of capturing images and videos of their property, ensuring that all key areas are properly documented. The AI automatically detects issues such as roof wear, missing shingles, potential hazards, and structural concerns, helping us assess risk more effectively.

Security & Privacy Protections

We understand that some policyholders may have concerns about sharing photos or personal data during a Flyreel inspection. Rest assured, Flyreel uses high security,

bank-grade encryption to protect all submitted images and information. This ensures that all data remains private and secure, reinforcing our commitment to policyholder privacy.

Key Features:

  • Flexibility – Insureds can complete the inspection at their convenience, avoiding the need for scheduled appointments.

  • Faster Turnaround – Flyreel inspections are typically completed much sooner than traditional inspections, allowing more time for necessary repairs or underwriting review.

  • Automated Tracking & Reminders – Flyreel sends policyholders text and email reminders to encourage completion, and we can track whether these messages have been opened or ignored.

  • Real-Time Status Updates – We receive ongoing updates indicating if an inspection has been started but not completed, ensuring we can follow up as needed.

  • Final Reminder Enhancements – To increase completion rates, Flyreel has added the word “Final” to the subject line of their last reminder email, making it clear that action is required.

MILLENNIUM: PHYSICAL INSPECTIONS FOR SPECIFIC NEEDS

While Flyreel is our preferred method due to its efficiency, Millennium physical inspections are still a vital part of our inspection process. There are certain situations where an in-person inspection is necessary, including:

  • Policyholders who are unable to complete a Flyreel inspection due to technical limitations or other concerns.

  • Properties requiring specific photos that a policyholder cannot capture themselves, such as roof images or high-angle shots that require specialized equipment.

Key Features:

  • Pre-Inspection Notifications – To improve communication, Millennium now sends pre invites so policyholders have advance notice before their inspection takes place.

  • Call Time Tracking – Inspectors use a special app to log call lengths, ensuring clear documentation of communication with policyholders.

  • Security & Professionalism – All Millennium inspectors undergo extensive background checks, so policyholders can feel confident about who

Millennium inspectors are trained professionals who perform thorough on-site evaluations of the property, ensuring that all necessary details are captured

accurately.

While Millennium inspections may take longer than Flyreel inspections, they provide an invaluable service for properties that require additional review or higher-quality imagery to properly assess risks.

ONGOING IMPROVEMENTS: WE HEAR YOU

Over the past year, we have made significant enhancements to our inspection process based on feedback from policyholders, agents, and underwriters. Our goal is to strike a balance between efficiency, accuracy, and security, ensuring that both insureds and underwriters have the best possible experience.

Whether a policyholder is completing a Flyreel self-inspection at their convenience or undergoing a Millennium physical inspection for more specialized needs, we are committed to making the process as smooth, secure, and effective as possible.

We appreciate your continued support and look forward to further refining our approach to property inspections, ensuring better underwriting decisions and

an improved customer experience.
